Tune Club - Learn Some New Music!

Tune Club is a music emersion workshop, aimed at building your repertoire and exploring a single style or idiom of music in-depth.

This is a tune-learning session, focusing on a new tune-type each class. Various marches, airs, strathspeys, reels, hornpipes, jigs, etc., Irish tune-types like polkas or slides, or tunes from other folk traditions.

  • This class will be most helpful for advanced beginners and intermediate players

Objectives for the club:

  • Help pipers learn tunes faster and more effectively

  • Help improve sight-reading skills

  • Introduce pipers to tune types they may not be familiar with

  • Overcome any anxiety or hesitation about attempting new tunes

  • Build your repertoire and expand your music library with curated tunes - selected for various ability levels, melodic qualities and distinctiveness

$30 per class.

Where: My house in Everett, WA

Also - online via Zoom

When: Ideally once-per-month, as my schedule allows (highland games season can get crazy)
